I hope you are all ready for a great year.
This was the shop window for the Fabric Frolic. Angie had help from Olivia and Chloe. The girls did a wonderful job of painting the pebbles and glueing buttons onto them, they also lent Granma their mushroom outdoor setting.
We had lots of visitors to the shop including our true blue Aussies on Australia Day. They came with flags and Akubra hat, and as they were leaving the sound of the cracking of a whip could be heard down Tuck Street. It was fun. Thank you to all for your support of this annual event. Thanks to the organisers, the introduction of the online ordering was much appreciated by those from far away. Next are the raffle draws. Shops will be on Jan 30th, and the Grand Draw will be on Feb 4th.
Now we are preparing for our classes and groups, these will resume from the first week in Feb.
We will be introducing new ranges that have not been in the shop. The first will be "Garden of Delights" by Jules Davis for Blend Fabrics. This is the fabric that we have used in our Block of the Month "Natures Gifts". There are lots of tiny creatures and birds on the fabric. It's very delicate and soft.
The list of classes is available and all the samples are in the shop now.
Glacier Star below is the Technique of the month class which begins in March. We will make up your kit for you. Just come in, book in, and choose your border fabric and we do the rest for you.
This is a pic I took before we hung the quilt in the shop. It is just pinned on top of another quilt. We still have two places left for this class.
I am also asking for espressions of interest for Sashiko workshops with Jane MacDonald from Be Be Bold. These will be held on April 23rd and 24th. Day 1 is the Kofu Quilt, and Day 2 will be tuition to make the Keepsake Bag and the Sashiko Table Runner. Class duration will be 11.00am till 4.00pm. Lunch, refreshments and afternoon tea will be provided. Kit will be extra.
Till next time.
